«The earth does not belong to man, man belongs to the earth» Sitting Bull
Self-employed since 2011 after 15 years working in technical and commercial positions, I wanted to take over the family torch that has been burning for four generations. The vines in Irouleguy are set in an exceptional area around the priory which is a historical high place of the appellation.
All of my plots are Organically Farmed certified. This extremely personal approach and above all not ‘marketed’ allows my employee and I to work in conditions that are in harmony with some of my principals on the preservation of man, nature and biodiversity. They are strong obstacles with regards to the climatology in the Basque Country, but it works and anyhow it’s the only way I know how to do things:)
Motivated by the great group dynamics of the Irouleguy Wine Cellar, I am lucky to be the President today.
In this respect I hope to follow in the footsteps of my predecessors and create our winegrower cooperative member loyalty. The wines from the Wine Cellar aren’t produced, matured, commercialized and promoted by the Wine Cellar team, they are OUR wines!
It is important that everyone can identify with OUR products. We should be proud of our equipment, of our production and I hope that all of us together help to make sure that the Irouleguy Wine Cellar remains the locomotive of the AOC Irouleguy that it has been since its creation in 1952.
The Wine Cellar should be a place to exchange, share, make decisions to ensure the longevity of our cultivation and even maybe attract new winegrower cooperative members to join us to pursue the numerous current projects and those in the future…

The wines from the Cellar are the fruit of the work and the values from which the wine growers and the members of the cooperative personally identify themselves.
