« Agriculture is the basis of culture. » Maurice Béjart
With an agricultural background, my parents were farmers and they grew vines in order to make wine for their daily use. At that time, I wasn’t particularly interested in viticulture so I got a Mathematics degree.
Then I met my wife who worked in her parents vine yards, age-old vines and the oldest, from 1960.
After my military service at 24 years old, the desire to quickly find a job was important. It was necessary to choose a training course enabling me to be operational quickly. Already being familiar with the wine field on the one hand through my parents and on the other hand through my wife’s vineyard, I decided to take a BTS viticulture-oenology. It was a revelation.
In the year 2000 I decided to start my own business with my wife on 5 hectares of vines that she managed for her parents.
Today we farm 7.70 hectares of vines with three red grape varieties of A.O.C Irouleguy. In parallel we farm twenty cows for their meat.
A new project is underway, to replace the red grape variety vines by white grape variety vines, by doubling the plantation densities.
At the same time, a restructuration project of the Irouleguy vine yard as a whole is underway. We must increase the densities of our planted surfaces. It’s an additional challenge.
Active within the Irouleguy wine cellar, I have been part of the board of directors for 4 years and on the vine committee for 3 years. The future will tell us the rest!

The wines from the Cellar are the fruit of the work and the values from which the wine growers and the members of the cooperative personally identify themselves.
